    Finance Manager - GW/MK

    An experienced finance manager is required by one of the Singaporean warehousing companies to support all Business Units (BU) within the company's group on all financial-related issues, including financial analysis, cost modelling, the preparation and review of monthly and annual accounts, annual budgets, and forecasts. For the purposes of the annual audit and statutory reporting, you must make sure that the accounting records for all entities are consistently in good and proper order.

    Job Description

    • Produce management and financial reports on a timely basis on a monthly, annual, and quarterly basis.
    • Work with the leadership team of the BU to prepare the annual budget and forecast(s).
    • On a monthly or periodic basis, prepare financial profitability and variance analyses comparing actuals, budget, and forecast.
    • In charge of managing all tax matters and submitting regulatory documents, including tax computations and GST returns.
    • Examine and put internal controls and procedures into place.
    • Ensure that the necessary governance, controls, and process requirements are followed
    • Create project costing, investment analysis, financial modeling, and projections as needed for management- and/or board-level approvals.
    • Communicate with tax agents, government agencies, financial institutions, and auditors as necessary
    • Supervise audits' conclusion to ensure that statutory accounts are properly and timely completed.
    • Prepare for and carry out any necessary fixed asset verification exercises.
    • Oversee the BU's purchasing procedure, and evaluate and give approval for purchases and payments in accordance with the applicable approval matrix.
    • Review the cash conversion cycle, keep an eye on cash flow, and monitor the need for working capital
    • Help the CFO prepare materials and reports for meetings of the board, the audit committee, and other committees.
    • Assist the BU Heads as needed in all business-related matters.
    • Complete any ad hoc tasks that may be given from time to time.

    Requirements

    • Technically proficient with a thorough understanding of regional accounting norms, procedures, and Income Tax Act provisions
    • An ACCA or equivalent degree in accounting
    • Professional credentials like a CA or comparable credentials are advantageous.
    • 8–10 years of relevant work experience, at least three of which should be in a managerial position.
    • Independence and the capacity to work with limited resources and deadlines

    Job Description

    • Understand the Branch's MAS Regulatory Reporting requirements, from data sources to reporting, and ensure that the mapping is correct (e.g. MAS 610 and MAS 649). Prepare and make adjustments to the Branch's MAS regulatory reports as needed. Work with the Head Office teams and the system vendor to develop an automated MAS Regulatory Reporting solution.
    • Payment processing and journal entry preparation, as well as detailed subaccount ledgers. Ensure that Accounting Policy and Head Office requirements are followed.
    • Preparation of Nostro reconciliations and follow-up with responsible units to ensure that they are completed on time.
    • Assist in the preparation of daily regulatory reports and the monitoring of daily regulatory ratios and requirements for the branch (e.g. Asset Maintenance Ratio, MLA & MCB).
    • Assist the Department Head with accounting and taxation issues, such as corporate tax computation and GST.
    • Provide Financial data, including ratios for asset-liability position monitoring, Head Office regulatory requirements, and ad hoc requests for financial information to the Head Office.
    • Work with cross-functional teams on accounting and reporting requirements, assist in new product and reporting system initiatives.
    • Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements as well as the submission of supporting documents to auditors.
