    Job Description

    • Maintain and develop excellent rapport with business partners through discovering various opportunities
    • Propose and establish strategic marketing campaigns for both internal and external stakeholders to ensure Cluster Yearly Key performance indicators are met.
    • Cultivate permanent partnership with the brokers through optimizing business opportunities and outstanding customer management.
    • Underwrite and provide quotations in accordance with assigned authority limits and within the company's underwriting guidelines and treaty terms.
    • Optimize broker distribution performance, sales result and business plans by conducting regular meetings with Cluster leaders and/or potential producers.
    • Develop the reinsurance inward business through reciprocal exchanges with other direct insurers;
    • Manage the operational requirements of the field force to ensure full and appropriate logistic support to be given & problem solving assistance in the running.
    • Manage a conducive and productive cluster working environment.

    Job Description

    One of the top performing General Insurer is on a look out for a Financial & Professional lines Underwriter managing and steering a portfolio of facultative risks profitably. You will have the luxury of being in the pioneering team at the forefront of the new growth phase by the company – huge initiative to grow facultative business.

     

    Being one of the pioneers, you will hold greater ability to make a visible impact on the business. You will work closely with Team Leader(s) in setting out the direction and goals, develop and service a book of facultative business and conduct regional market visits. Greater decisional agility to capitalize on market opportunities in terms of markets territories and products lines.

     

    We are seeking experienced underwriters with strong capabilities to work and thrive in autonomous and agile environments. You will be working alongside an existing team of well-experienced market underwriters, passionate in driving the portfolio and business. Autonomy to give input to shape the business due to absence of bureaucracy.

     

     

    Key Responsibilities
     

    • Grow a book of facultative risks in designated territory(ies) within the Asia Pacific and International markets
    • Service current client base – cedants and intermediaries – through regular dialogue and technical exchanges
    • Adhere to Underwriting Guidelines and Best Practice, as well as Code of Conduct; contribute towards enhancement or fine-tuning of such guidelines
    • Formulate market-specific strategies, together with Client Relations and Underwriters from other lines of business
    • Assist the Team Leader in review of the Underwriting Guidelines and propose improvements, changes or amendments, when and where needed
    • Be accountable for the quality of the portfolio and completeness of its records
    • Keep track of the claims incurred and assist, when needed the Claims Department, in the handling and settlement of the claims; and
    • Any other responsibilities or duties that may be assigned by the Team Leader

    Requirements

    • Degree holder and / or ACII qualification or equivalent
    • Relevant experience in financial & professional lines underwriting will be strongly considered
    • At least 5 years of underwriting experience, practical experience in risk analysis and in the use of rating methods, familiarity with standard wordings and clauses prevalent in the various markets
    • Possesses a good knowledge of the risk landscape in the underlying industries as well as a familiarity with the markets, the distribution systems and of the key players
    • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team; confidence to operate on one’s own in designated territory(ies)
