    Sourcing Manager

    Our client, a global leading brand in industrial automation and information products with office in 80 countries. With the objective of improving their performance and services in this region, they are seeking a forward-looking Sourcing Manager to be part of their Singapore team to drive their sourcing strategy for Asia Pacific region.

    Job Description

    • Responsible to support and implement the overall sourcing strategy with special focus in Asia-Pacific.
    • Continually develop and upgrade team’s capabilities and performance.
    • Develop and execute sourcing strategies on assigned commodities with regional commodity leads.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (global Sourcing team, Engineering, Operations, Business Units, Quality, etc.) in executing these strategies.
    • Participate and support Global Commodity Leads in managing global commodities.
    • Source and qualify new suppliers especially in low-cost region (LCR) countries in line with company's commodities strategy.
    • Drive relentless improvements in quality, delivery and cost to meet Strategic Sourcing targets and initiatives.
    • Keep abreast of design, product and market requirements from Business Units and in turn share market and suppliers’ developments
    • Track and implement action plans to continuously improve Strategic Sourcing Key Performance Indicators (KPI) as well as support manufacturing locations regionally and globally.
    • Conduct regular business reviews with strategic and critical suppliers involving relevant stakeholders

    • Relevant Degree (Engineering highly preferred) with at least 7 years of progressive sourcing responsibilities, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and with at least 5 years’ experience of managing a team.
    • Experience in project management required.
    • Proven track record in the development and management of the sourcing function via both multi-site management responsibility and multi-commodity responsibility.
    • Regional sourcing experience in Asia Pacific highly preferred.
    • Broad knowledge and exposure in managing direct material commodities (e.g. machined parts, injection molding, cable assemblies, bus bar, etc.)
    • Possess well-rounded knowledge in strategic sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing and operational procurement
    • Exposure in high-mix low-volume (HMLV) environment preferred.
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing in production environment and experience in implementing Kanban/Consignment systems highly preferred.
    • Proven communication, negotiation and presentation skills at local, regional and global levels.
    • Extensive knowledge of the marketplace conditions for a broad range of commodities including technology trend, supply & demand dynamics, supplier analysis, pricing and development including bench-marking

    • Supporting the development of the Asia Pacific business plan
    • Understanding the dynamics of the Asia Pacific process control and automation and valves market, and the business opportunities by regions and countries

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automation or related.
