    Assistant Manager, Compliance (Fit & Proper)


    Permanent Position
    A life insurer is looking for a Compliance Assistant Manager who have experience in assessing Fit and Proper for sales representatives. Besides ensuring completion of assigned Fit & Proper cases and fulfilling Fit & Proper criteria for sales representatives.

    Job Description

    •Ensuring Distribution Representatives are in compliance with the Company’s guidelines, circulars, notices and/or directives as well as laws including but not limited to regulations, guidelines or notices etc. issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore or the Life Insurance Association of Singapore.

    •Applying risk and control concepts to scenarios encountered in assessments and identifies any potential issues.

    •Reporting identified issues to Supervisor to ensure any potential concerns are addressed timely and effectively, and the appropriate enforcement actions are meted out to Distribution Representatives.

    •Assess on the Fit & Proper status of New Applicants and existing Distribution Representatives and proceed with the necessary course of action.

    •Obtain and review evidence ensuring that the assessments are well-documented.

    •Revision of SOP, matrices and guidelines.

    •Monitoring of Distribution Representatives issued with Directives.

    •Review of the Annual Declaration Exercise and preparation of the management report.

    •Perform checks on Fit & Proper records and other related issues for business units.

    •Ensure that Distribution Representatives’ outside engagement are non conflicting.

    •Agent Fraud Monitoring.

    •Reporting statistics and relevant information.

    •FAA related advisory (Fit & Proper) to business units.

    •Any other ad hoc duties / projects in this scope.

    Degree holder in any discipline, preferably with relevant work experience.

    •Prior experience in Law Enforcement Agency or Compliance Department.

    •Good knowledge of MAS and FAA rules and regulations and / or sales experience in the Financial Industry would be an advantage.

    Our client is looking for a passionate and driven Training & Competency trainer supporting their sales force!

    Job Description

    • Assist in training sales representatives’ on their knowledge of Fact Finder and sales system.
    • Assist in reviewing the quality of Fact Finder and recommendations, at the same time, ensuring that the Fact Finder document are in compliance with the company standards.
    • Assist in managing the competency requirements of supervisors and representatives by developing requirements in accordance to regulatory and industry guidelines, crafting communication plans and conducting briefings/ training to keep them well-informed on any changes.
    • Assist in coaching and training supervisors of sales representatives when required.
    • Assist in managing special projects/ initiatives: conceptualizing requirements, facilitating discussion with stakeholders to obtain concept buy-in, planning resources, timelines and action. Additionally, keeping stakeholders regularly updated on projects progress, ensuring project implementation is carried out smoothly and performing post-project reviews to identify areas of improvement.
    • Assist in conducting audit for regulatory compliance requirements, namely supervisory duties compliance of Committee on Efficient Distribution of Life Insurance (CEDLI) requirements by leaders, mystery shopping results, categorization of Balance Scorecard (BSC) grading and appeals.
    • Liaise with IT/ Group Risk Management/ Distribution Regulatory and Compliance (DRC) on any data extraction/ investigation and reporting
    • Prepare regular reports.
    • Provide support in attending to the queries from sales representatives.
    • Assist in reviewing and updating the Standard Operating Procedures of T&C.
