R&D Surgical Robotics Engineer

Permanent PositionWe are looking for a motivated Robotics Engineer to join our dynamic R&D team in the development of cutting-edge robotic surgical systems. This role is open to engineers from mechanical, software, or electrical engineering backgrounds who have hands-on experience working on surgical robotics through university projects, master's research, or internships. As part of our collaborative engineering teams, you will contribute to the design, development, and testing of innovative robotic systems aimed at transforming surgical applications.Job Description
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, and software) to support the development and integration of robotic systems.
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of various system components, such as actuators, controllers, sensors, and other relevant parts.
- Support the creation and optimization of system features, including visualization, user interfaces, and real-time data processing.
- Assist with risk assessments, validation, and performance evaluation of system components.
- Help prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and other related materials.
- Support the design and development of mechanical parts and systems, ensuring precision and reliability in robotic instruments.
- Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts to ensure optimal system functionality and compliance with regulatory standards.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering (or a related field).
- Experience with surgical robotics through academic projects, research work, or internships.
- Familiarity with design and development processes in a medical robotic setting.
- Familiarity with C/C++ programming
- Knowledge of medical product design standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., IEC/IPC standards).

- Design electrical systems across system, module, and component levels
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and ensure high product reliability
- Conduct risk assessments, design verifications, and validations
- Ensure design documentation (Design History File) is accurate and up to date

- Degree (Bachelor/Master) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related field
- 5+ years' experience in electrical and electronics design for medical devices
- Strong knowledge of:
- Communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, UART)
- Analog/digital mixed circuit design
- Microcontrollers and embedded systems for electro-mechanical systems
- Proficient with 3D CAD tools like Altium or SolidWorks for schematics, cabling, and PCBA drawings
- Hands-on experience with PCBA simulation, circuit analysis, and technical reviews
- Familiarity with EMC/EMI type testing and troubleshooting
- Programming experience in C/C++ is a plus
- Solid understanding of medical regulatory standards (IEC, IPC, risk management)
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and work with electro-mechanical assemblies
