Application Analyst

Permanent PositionThis role partners closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design and deliver technology solutions for banking applications, and provide ongoing system support to ensure smooth daily operations.Job Description
- Engage stakeholders across Front Office, Finance, Risk, Capital Markets, and Operations to understand business processes and translate them into functional and technical requirements.
- Participate in the full solution lifecycle including development, unit testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) support, validation, and production deployment.
- Coordinate with regional or head office teams and external vendors on project delivery and issue resolution.
- Provide operational support for business applications and troubleshoot system issues.
- Implement system enhancements and code updates, ensuring timely and stable releases.

- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Business Analysis or application development within the banking or financial services environment. Candidates deployed to banks through IT service providers are also considered.
- Hands-on programming capability is required.
- Strong proficiency in both English and Chinese (spoken and written) as communication with overseas stakeholder teams and documentation are primarily in Chinese.
- Solid technical exposure in:
- SQL, data processing / ETL, Hive, and data visualization
- Python development, with experience in at least one framework such as Django
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting systems (e.g., MAS reporting) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Microsoft BI tools such as VBA, Power BI, or SQL Server is a plus.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under tight timelines, both independently and within a team.
