About Our Product / Platform
- We operate a connected care platform (1Bio) that ingests data from our proprietary RS001 wearable + other devices, applying AI models for early deterioration detection, longitudinal tracking, and clinical decision support. Our system is cleared under FDA 510(k) for home use and must comply with medical device software regulations, ISO 13485, ISO 27001, and HIPAA. We are scaling globally across US, APAC, and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, real-time data pipelines, data ingestion and processing for high throughput sensor data
- Collaborate with embedded / firmware teams to define data formats, messaging protocols, and telemetry schemas
- Integrate with external systems: EHRs, third-party devices (Bluetooth, BLE, mobile), cloud platforms
- Build scalable machine learning inference services, ensuring low latency, reliability, fault tolerance
- Establish monitoring, alerting, observability (metrics, logs, tracing) for downstream systems
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and quality standards (e.g. data encryption, audit logging)
- Participate in code reviews, testing, validation, continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD)
- Mentor junior engineers, contribute to architecture decisions

- Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- Strong experience (e.g. 4+ years) in backend / platform / systems engineering
- Proven skills in language(s) such as Python, Go, Java, or equivalent
- Experience building and operating real-time, high-throughput data systems or streaming pipelines
- Familiarity with microservices, REST/GRPC APIs, message queues / pub-sub (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
