    Vice President, Group Tax

    A leading real estate conglomerate with global present is seeking an experience Tax professional to join the team! Reporting to the Head of Group Tax, you will manage a team and be responsible for tax advisory and tax compliance for the group of entities. In addition, you will have to work closely with the various business deal teams to advise on the tax planning strategies and highlight the tax implications of these strategies.

    Job Description

    • Provide tax advice on tax-efficient outbound investment structures, including structures for the setting up of real estate funds, acquisitions of companies or properties located overseas e.g. China, US, UK, Europe, Japan, Australia
    • Advise on cross-border tax issues, e.g. profit repatriation strategies, withholding taxes, transfer pricing, etc
    • Review/perform tax due diligence on acquisitions of properties/companies
    • Work with legal and financial and tax advisors on M&A deals, acquisitions, and divestments of investments
    • Keep up to date with changes in international tax rules and apprise management of any implications on corporate tax position
    • Review transfer pricing documentation, cost allocation methodology and analysis
    • Be responsible for tax compliance reviews and dispute management
    • Engage government bodies and tax authorities for favourable tax positions as well as objections to tax assessments including litigations where applicable
    • Provide knowledge guidance to members of the team
    • Undertake adhoc projects as and when assigned

    Requirements

    • At least 10 years of relevant experience gained in a Big 4 accounting firm or a large organization with in-house tax function
    • Exposure to the real estate and funds management sectors
    • Degree in Accountancy or ACCA / CPA qualification or equivalent
    • Accreditation with the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP)
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
    • A resourceful, analytical, and self-motivated mindset
    • Strong adaptability and technical skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with all levels of staff

    Job Description

    Job Summary
    Reporting to the Head of Reserving, Actuarial, You will be assisting in the IFRS-17 implementation, M&A projects and post go live support of the new financial accounting system.


    Key duties and responsibilities
    You will be involved in:

    • Assist in the IFRS-17 implementation via outsourcing the IFRS17 implementation to an external consulting company.
    • Work with the vendor on data preparation, conversion, integration and analysis; he/she also need to perform comparison between US GAAP, MAS and IFRS accounts, which are critical for the IFRS 17 disclosures.
    • Actuarial due diligence and valuation on the M&A projects
    • Post go live integration of the new financial accounting system
    • Work with IT and finance team on the system testing and revamp of the existing data report to ensure the success of the system implementation.
    • Assist on daily actuarial works: work with the head of reserving on various actuarial tasks, such as group reporting, commutation, reserving and ad hoc actuarial projects
