- Compile and analyze financial data to prepare journal entries and statements, assisting with monthly closing and accounting reports.
- Verify the accuracy of accounting data processing.
- Ensure general ledger accounts are understood, clean, and reconciled monthly.
- Research and explain variances in general ledger accounts compared to trends, budgets, and prior years.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the accounting team, including task assignment, review, and evaluation.
- Document procedures and identify process improvements.
- Oversee accounting systems, including enhancements and changes.
- Ensure all tasks are completed accurately, consistently, and on time.
- Select, manage, evaluate, and develop staff, fostering effective teams and providing coaching and development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation and coordinate audit requests.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and summary reports.
- Assist with and coordinate special accounting projects.
